I've started progressing with this theme outside of the roundabouts, firstly using charcoal. I'm really proud of the end result.

Because of the use of charcoal these images are considered expressive drawings. Other expressive artists include:

Frank Auerbach

I like the way he brings the backgrounds into his drawings, which is also what I've tried to do in these drawings.

David Bomberg

This type of work is more relevant to the type of thing I'm doing, as I've been drawing landscapes rather than portraits.

Oscar Kokoschka

I find that Kokoschka's work has a far more sinister tone to it than the other artists, I feel this makes it more intreguing.
